Old School Organization

Running a business means keeping track of a lot of details. While most of us rely on our phones and apps to stay organized, sometimes they aren’t the best solution. Keeping a journal for your business is a great strategy. Journals don’t have distracting notifications that pop up while you’re taking notes in a client meeting. Flipping to a blank page to make a note is often faster than navigating to the right place in an app. Business cards and receipts can be tucked away safely until you get back to your workspace. There are no subscription fees, storage limits or passwords to remember.

I typically use a journal with a digital tool to create a back up and give myself a chance to process and internalize my notes as I digitize them. They’re also a great promotional gift. We got ours from Lipic’s Engagement, here in St. Louis.
